Ingredients:
- Rice 2 cups
- Palm sugar 3 cups
- Ghee 3 tbsp
- Cashew nuts few
- Cardamon pods 5 nos peeled and seeds crushed
- Wash and Soak the rice for a while
- Cook the Rice in the pressure cooker until soft and then mash them when it is hot
- For making pagu(sugar syrup) Heat a pan with little water add the broken palm sugar boil them until we get 1 string consistency
- Filter the pagu using a filter and then mix them with cooked rice
- Now fry the crushed cardamon seeds and Cashews in Ghee(Clarified butter) pour them over the pongal and mix them well
